If your mother’s like mine she probably told you that if you didn’t stop biting your nails you’d end up with a big pile of nails growing in the pit of your stomach.  While that’s not really going to happen you could cause some major damage to your fingers and hands if you don’t stop biting your nails.

When you bite your nails down so far that they begin to bleed you’re leaving yourself open to potential infection.  It only takes one tiny bacteria to enter into your blood stream through your broken skin and you could disfigure you nail bed forever.

The same can be said for your cuticles.  Trimming or biting your cuticles is never a good idea no matter how healthy your nails are.  Your cuticles are there to protect the nail bed.  When they’re cut and bleeding, again, you run the risk of potential infection that could leave you without a fingernail for the rest of your life.

And fingernails aren’t just put there to make the tips of your fingers look pretty.  They’re a protective covering for the tips of your fingers which are very sensitive.  Take action before it’s to late and find out how to stop biting nails now before you do irreparable damage.
